If you’re struggling with persistent pain that hasn’t responded to medication or conservative treatments, a nerve block may offer the relief you need. At Lifespring Pain Management Center, we use advanced diagnostic and therapeutic nerve blocks to accurately pinpoint pain sources and provide effective, long-lasting relief.
A nerve block is an injection of anesthetic—and sometimes anti-inflammatory medication—around a specific nerve or group of nerves. The goal is to temporarily “block” the pain signals traveling to the brain.
Nerve blocks are incredibly versatile and may be used to:
Assessment & Planning
Your provider will identify the affected nerve(s) and determine the best injection site using physical exam findings and imaging.
Injection Preparation
The skin is sterilized and numbed with a local anesthetic to ensure comfort.
Guided Placement
Using ultrasound or fluoroscopic imaging, your provider carefully places a thin needle near the target nerve.
Medication Delivery
A combination of anesthetic (and sometimes steroids) is injected to block the pain signals. The entire process usually takes just a few minutes.
Nerve blocks can be repeated as needed for chronic pain, with some patients experiencing relief for up to 12 months.
Our Kaysville pain specialists take a multidisciplinary approach to nerve blocks—blending precision-guided injections with a whole-patient view of your care journey. Whether your goal is diagnosis, symptom relief, or support after surgery, we tailor each nerve block to your needs and recovery goals.
