Double Board-Certified in Interventional Pain Medicine & Internal Medicine
Dr. Obah is a compassionate and highly skilled physician, double board-certified in Interventional Pain Medicine and Internal Medicine, with a unique dedication to treating pain and addiction through a comprehensive, stigma-free approach. He is also certified by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to treat substance use disorders.
Dr. Obah began his medical career at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Nigeria—one of the country's most esteemed medical institutions. He went on to work with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), where he led medical teams and supervised camp clinics, demonstrating his deep commitment to humanitarian care.
At Lifespring Pain Management Center, our providers are dedicated to helping you reclaim a life free from pain. With compassion, expertise, and a patient-first approach, we’re here to support your journey toward healing.
After relocating to the U.S., Dr. Obah completed his Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine (NGH Program) in New York. During this time, he served as a three-time representative for the Committee of Interns and Residents (CIR), showcasing his leadership and advocacy for fellow clinicians.
Witnessing the stigma faced by patients with chronic pain, Dr. Obah pursued a fellowship in Anesthesia and Interventional Pain Management at the University of Utah, where he was honored with the Best Patient Satisfaction Award—an accolade he also earned at Mount Sinai. He was later recognized as a Pfizer Scholar in Pain Management, becoming the first recipient of the award at the University of Utah.
Dr. Obah’s academic work includes multiple peer-reviewed publications, and he served as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Utah before entering private practice. His philosophy of care embraces a multidisciplinary, personalized approach, empowering patients to take control of their health and well-being.
Guided by values of compassion, integrity, and excellence, Dr. Obah is deeply committed to helping patients heal—not just physically, but emotionally. He takes pride in going the extra mile to deliver care that helps individuals live fully and free from pain.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Obah enjoys quality time with his family, actively serves in his church community, and unwinds with sports—especially ping pong.
